shopping everyday

One of the reasons for shutting off the refrigerator was to make myself to eat better. The main idea I had was to shop each day and get only what I needed for dinner that night. It's a lot tougher than it sounds.

You see so many good things, things that make you go mmmmmm. If the fridge was on, I could have that Saturday, but having to leave it in my "cool, dry spot" it won't be as good then.

I got a cucumber to have as a snack, it's the first thing I've put salt on in months. I got some cheese, having always heard that you can leave cheese out. I've seen those fancy glass domed cheese trays. It must have to be a harder cheese then I got, within an hour it was greasy to the touch and didn't taste as good as when it was cold.

It's both hard and easy. But think about it, the refrigerator was/is a appliance of convenience.
